Shipping Restrictions


Before sending a parcel to Dubai, it is vital that you check their prohibited and restricted lists for shipping items. Should you attempt to send an item to Dubai that is present on their list of prohibited items, you will be forced to deal with their customs office. The following information will give you useful advice on what you can and can't ship to Dubai should you ever need to do so.

Dubai's prohibited list contains a number of familiar items with firearms, military equipment and ammunition, endangered items such as ivory and perishable biological substances all present. Other items include aerosol products, butane gas lighters and their refills, gold, jewellery and precious elements such as platinum and other stones. There are a number of items on Dubai's prohibited list that are notably specific including pork products and authentic publications, paintings, pictures, photographs or other printed matter that contradict the Islamic faith and its teachings. Silver is prohibited except in insured parcels and radio transmitters or receivers must be under permit.

Dubai also prohibits the transportation of gambling tools, electronic cigarettes, alcohol and counterfeit or fake currency. All medicines that are shipped to Dubai must be accompanied with authorisation beforehand.
